Salim Hasham is Chairman of Health Services International a global healthcare investment and management company. He is former Executive Chairman of Mediheal Group based in East Africa. He is also Adjunct Faculty at Strathmore University MBA program -Health Management specialization; global hospital trainer and hospital consultant for WHO. He also serves as Special Advisor for Africa for International Hospital Federation. Prior to this, he served as Vice President Health Services for Aga Khan University and was responsible for the university’s global health systems enterprise in East Africa, Pakistan and Afghanistan. This consisted of seven hospitals (including two University Hospitals) and in excess of four hundred outreach centers. He has also served as Senior Vice President – Global Services for Johns Hopkins Medicine International and was responsible for managing its global strategy and service delivery with oversight of Chief Executives in eight countries. Mr. Hasham has also served as President and CEO of Hawaii Medical Centers, a two hospital and a skilled nursing facility system in Hawaii, USA. He has a 30 plus year expereince in executive international health care, private equity and health system management. Salim was born in Nairobi and got his honors undergraduate degree in Mathematics from University of Nairobi. He has a Master in Health Administration from University of Ottawa, Canada and a summa cum laude Master in Systems Engineering from Clemson University, USA.
